Arrived at the water to find a couple of the guys rigging up a little tenatively as it was mingingly cold, and there wasn't a huge amount of water. A few other guys started to turn up as well. Wind was gradually picking up though, so the Synchro and the 8.0m Strike F were rigged up quickly. Got on the water and blasted back and forth quite enjoyably for about 10 minutes, until my hands went numb. Came in to warm up with a hot coffee, and a pair of gloves and went back out again, and the hands never really got too cold again after that. Managed about an hour in total of just planing winds, and then the wind dropped off. Sailing conditions weren't brilliant, but even a few decent planing runs is normally enough to keep me happy. Also a good chance to catch up with some of the guys who I hadn't seen for a while - mighty cold though. As often happens, having just packed up and got changed, the wind did pick up again, but by this time only two of the guys were still rigged - and they made the best of this upturn in fortune.
